We are proud to share that Dr. Aaron Binstock, Dr. Mark Veldman, and Dr. Alexandra Muschenheim of Midwest Radiology have been named 2025 Top Doctors by Mpls.St.Paul Magazine. This honor, awarded through a rigorous peer-review and research process, spotlights physicians who exemplify excellence in clinical care, leadership, and patient outcomes.
In 2025, the magazine’s Top Doctors list includes 822 professionals across 46 specialties, each nominated and vetted by fellow physicians. The continued recognition of Drs. Binstock, Veldman, and Muschenheim is a reflection of the deep trust they’ve earned within both the radiology and broader medical communities.
Meet the Honorees
Dr. Aaron Binstock, who serves on Midwest Radiology’s body radiology and oncology radiology teams, has been a fixture on the Top Doctors list for nearly a decade. His clinical training includes a residency and fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, where he specialized in abdominal imaging. A graduate of the University of South Florida and the University of Minnesota, Dr. Binstock has built a reputation for diagnostic precision, collaborative excellence, and steadfast leadership, including his tenure as past president of Suburban Radiologic Consultants-North Group.
Dr. Mark Veldman also brings an impressive depth of expertise to the body imaging team. A University of Minnesota Medical School graduate with fellowship training in cross-sectional imaging at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Veldman is respected by peers across the region for his interpretive skill and attention to clinical context. He has been named a Top Doctor by both Mpls.St.Paul Magazine and Minnesota Monthly every year since 2019.
Dr. Alexandra Muschenheim, a valued member of our breast imaging team, is also recognized this year for her outstanding contributions to patient care. A graduate of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Dr. Muschenheim completed her residency in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in cardiovascular and interventional radiology. Known for her thoughtful, patient-centered approach and clinical expertise in breast imaging, she plays a vital role in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer and other conditions critical to women’s health.
Why This Recognition Matters
While honors like Top Doctors are always worth celebrating, their real significance lies in what they represent—for patients, for referring providers, and for the specialty of radiology itself.
In a field that is often behind the scenes, peer recognition validates the crucial role radiologists play in driving patient care decisions. From interpreting complex imaging to guiding biopsies and treatment planning, radiologists like Drs. Binstock, Veldman, and Muschenheim are instrumental to accurate diagnoses and timely interventions. Recognition by peers reinforces the collaborative trust that is so essential between radiologists and referring clinicians.
For patients, awards like these offer reassurance. They signal that the professionals reading their scans and helping guide their care are not only highly trained but widely respected by colleagues. In today’s healthcare landscape, where patients increasingly seek transparency, quality, and expertise, these honors help bridge the gap between invisible excellence and visible impact.
For the radiology community, these recognitions shine a light on the value of the specialty in a system often centered around primary or surgical care. They elevate the field, advocate for its contributions, and inspire the next generation of radiologists to pursue not just competence, but distinction.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Binstock, Dr. Veldman, and Dr. Muschenheim on this well-earned honor. Their commitment to quality, consistency, and collaboration continues to raise the bar for radiologic excellence in the Upper Midwest and beyond.
